I create art to make devotion visible,
intimate, and personal.
For me, spirituality isn’t grandeur…it’s softness. It’s the fragrance of white flowers, the hum of ashloka, the warmth of an oil lamp. My artwork aims to capture these subtle, fleeting emotions and turn them into timeless visuals.
I am drawn to:
Sacredness – deities, mandaps, rituals, temple architecture
Cultural storytelling – Bengal’s myths, moods, and memories
Emotion through texture – jewellery, drapery, metal, stone
Light – especially how it falls on idols, reflecting divinity
Stillness – the quiet moments around deities that most people overlook
My vision is simple:
to create devotional art that feels like a moment of peace in your home.
Mediums I Work With
Different subjects demand different mediums, and I mould my approach to match their energy:
Watercolors
Soft, fluid, meditative. Perfect for temples, floral offerings, and subtle devotional scenes. This is also the base of my Outdoor Temple Series.
Acrylic/Poster Color on Board Canvas
My go-to for Krishna, Kali, Shiva, and intricate divine forms—allows depth, crisp detailing, and rich layers.
Professional Journey
Beyond being a painter, I am also a Marketing Manager specialising in Social Media & Influencer
marketing, working with a leading BFSI Brand.
This dual identity shaped my artistic voice in three ways:
Storytelling — I understand how visuals captivate and communicate.
Consistency — Marketing taught me discipline; art gave me soul.
Connection — My art is not just created; it is shared, documented, and lived with my
audience.
I also run @gora_kolkatan, my Instagram channel, where I share process videos, reels, behind-the-
scenes, and art drops.
